Initially i was in the music and dance section PURELY, coz any other department will just confuse me. More importantly it was'n't useful. I erred here probably. I don't have evidence yet.

Then I learnt the language of the posters and identified which combination of words suits you.

In this world of FLUIDITY, sailing is easy when you know your corners, in my HUMBLE opinion.

Recently i saw a poster with a BANNER: MORE FREQUENT YOU VISIT THE, MORE DISRESPECT YOU GET.

well, commonsense is not common, the moment you are in this webpage, everyone thinks you are in a particular river, which is not the case... i have said it in my third sentence, you are on a slow flowing river, u don't have to sprinkle water on others to curse him (coz, u don't have evidence that it has worked), but you can sprinkle some on yourself to make you feel better (PURIFY yourself-- as the PURIST would call it)

I am not sure where you are arriving at... are you saying the forum behavior should be tailored to suit the forum in some way....?

HEY! Everyone seems to be making fun of my banner! :lol:

Honestly sayings in my banner are suitable for forum behavior too.

1. Familiarity breeds contempt: The less others know about you, the less likely they are to perceive differences from themselves and attack you on that basis.

2. Frequent visits cause Disrespect: Somewhere I read that "Wise men speak because they have something to say. Fools speak because they have to say something." - Plato. This is 100% true when it comes to forum participation too. The more meaningful, useful and genuine our messages are, the more accepted we become, the more useful our forum interaction becomes!

Last time some one advised me to participate in all the threads and i got smashed out of shape. a veteran started pouring petrol on me to burn me. so i won't advise you to do that.

BTW, there are 2 ISKCONS in Boston MA?

Such questions are not usually useful and many dont get answers quickly. I have not tried asking a questions like " is murangakai sambar made like mullangi sambar ? "

Suddenly a member will tell you about BJP RSS SS parties ( of late ) and i don't like men with beard!

I am sorry to hear about your experience, Sandhya! (By the way, I know what you mean ;0) ).

I know by far only of 1 ISKCON center in Boston, MA. This is the one that someone I know once told me he attends. If you have any questions, I can ask him that.

We generally do not bite new comers. We give them time to show themselves. You are a senior member so you are fair game. Some of us have been long enough in this site, so they know to ignore the bark, but bite back.

If someone challenges you , challenge wit counter arguments .


If anyone threatens about pouring petrol ,report to moderator to ban him

It is a matter of feeling confident to take on anyone.

Others normally back out if you are bold enough to challenge. Start more threads. Say what all you want . This is a free forum as far as I know

What i mean is they will give support, psychologically, using philosophies but it will not be a function of time and place. I mean they will be a VETERAN but not a VALUABLE person of the day for that person for that particular problem.

Veterans should know, each thread is like a bullet, comes with a specific purpose. either it kills the person it is aimed at or travels a bit more somewhere and gets impregnated in a tree nearby!

coming to vyakanam, 2 ISKCONs, stands for I am for SWEET KARAM COFFEE ON another SWEET, and the vyakanam for 2 is, there are 2 sweets in ISKCONS.

thanks prasad1 for sending me a friend request, i had pleasure having you in my cloud. But i wont eat too much into your posts, last time i did that was few months ago and just calculating the number of posts u make over weeks took me 5 minutes.. that was HIGH TEA !

Assuming i open 10 threads a day. only 1 of them really produce good affect. another 1 clarifies your perception of something. 7 produces neutral effect. and that particular 1 produces pungent effect. how likely is that i will continue opening 10/ day?

2/10 is useful, 7/10 neutral, 1/10 detrimental

obviously u want to avoid that 1 detrimental thread. and let us assume it happens to be your first thread of the day. and u have 9 more to go.

if the next 2 happens to be useful, u might as well click on another 7 of them and leave.

but the probability of finding the next useful item is 2/9, if u r in a hurry the chance is 0.222

24 replies and 424 views. i was the OP, i better say i saw it 24 times. so how about the remaining 400. Assume 10 people replied ( in reality 5 for this thread ). and saw these 20 posts. 10*20 = 200. and no one in the replied group, is going to be stupid seeing all the posts, so lets give them a bit of respect and make it 100 and not 200.

Now the remaining 300 views look like the shore of a quiet ocean. And the rest of 124 looks like a small creek merging into an ocean.

Now the question is which frog (i mean Frog-creek or Frog ocean) is feeding which snake (i mean snake-creek or snake-ocean) or the other way around ?

BTW, i put 24 leaves of cilantro in my soup and chewed them 424 times in total.
