Hi All,

My family used to pray Kannimar swami as Kuzhadeivam for generations. Of late, a temple purohit told that we have to workship Papathi amman as this is the highest deity. We were unaware of this amman and did not practice to workship, since, my by gone elders did not gave any directions or guidance of this deity. We are in look out of a temple where we can go and pray in and around Tamil Nadu. Can any one give me where we can find this temple. What is a right way to pray to this amman? I need help from you.

Thank you
Nithish Vishnu

The Kanchi Acharya once said, forgetting to worship Kuladeivam can be attributed to most of the problems faced by people these days. Its sad how many people drift away from their kuladeivams and ishta deivams. Im not old enough to advice you, Im only in my thirties, but i wanna help, so decided to add a reply. Anyways its good you are looking around and making amends ;-)
I might be wrong, but some people call Sri Chakram Amman aka Sakara Amman as Paapathi Amman. The temple is in Besant Nagar and is opposite to Kalakshetra main entrance.
Go there and enquire about Sakarai Amman Kovil They will tell you.
It is called Paapathi Amman - it is said to be a Siddhar Peedam. I personally found it to be a very powerful place. Though it is a tiny temple, the day I went there for the first time I went there accidentally. We were returning from Pamban Swamy Temple when we went there by chance, we didnt even know it was a temple. The place is so peaceful and beautiful. The very next day I received a fantastic news which I relish till today.
My visit to Paapathi Amman Temple was a life saving experience. I hope it works for you too.
Chennai - Besant Nagar- Kalakshetra Main entrance- opposite theres a small road, take the first or second left - im not sure. its the second building on the left. It is juxtaposed between two apartment buildings.
A small beautiful temple set in the midst of a small nandavanam.

Whenever people have queries they should try to give helpful details. In case of question like the above, ancestral origin could be of much help. Sometimes, giving name of important family members might help. One's Kuladaivam is somewhere in the interiors and you are perhaps miles or even continents afar. Well this is also a case of parents' failure. You might have grown up in a difficult or different conditions and consequently got disillusioned with praying to Kuladaivam etc. But unfortunately the issues get the urge to visit their Kuladaivam. Never forget the past because it might come to you forcibly at the evening of your life. I do not know how many parents will come out and admit that they have failed to inform their issues of Kuladaivam, gotram, vedam, and address of close relatives. I know a person who had leftout everything in writing for their children. I know a mother who had discouraged her children not to know these. These are all very unfortunate.

The temple is near Devarayapuram, Namakkal. It came once in the tamil paper too about Milk Abishegam.
There is one more Pappathi Amman Koil in Malampalayam
near Vangal. I am told that this temple is maintained by
Vanniyars as it is their Kuladeivam. You may like to verify.
