That guy sitting on the ice block probably suffers from piles! Creates nausea on viewing, P J Sir! :dizzy:

BTW, have you not seen guys in front of cool drink shops in T'nagar, breaking ice blocks by keeping them

inside dirty rubber tubes? Seldom people care for the dirt accumulated in the ice pieces and have cool drinks!

Raji Madam

Unless i post the picture here, i wont be able to convey the message, hence i did it.

Yes, you are right, the picture creates nausea.

I was told that some petty shop walls sell Ice Blocks used in Hospitals, and hence one should be very careful while buying ICE BLOCKS from any dealer.

First the water used must be of potable quality; storage and handling are also important. I believe indian standards are available. Normally medium and big consumers get blocks supplied by vans. Anyway it is not safe to add ice to drinks even in star hotels. Better to check if the ice cubes are made in house with ice cube making machines.

Indian Standard IS 3957

QUALITY TOLERANCES FOR WATER FOR ICE MANUFACTURE

Ice is manufactured in a number of food industries, in cold storage plants and exclusively in ice-making industry. Good quality ice should be clear, colourless, free from air bubbles, snowy butts and heavy cores. It should not shatter when handled. On melting, it should give a water of potable quality in its bacteriological, physical and chemical features. Hence the quality of water used in ice making is of utmost public health importance.
