Never walk on the Railway Track

Many walk on the Railway Track , or on the roads listening to Music which shuts them up from their surroundings.

This Practice is very dangerous.

A 25-year-old woman on Friday had a miraculous escape here after she cleverly lay down between the railway tracks when she spotted a speeding train approaching her.

M Sahana Devi, a designer by profession, was crossing the tracks at the suburban Perambur railway station to reach the platform to take a train to her work place.

An EMU train bound for Chennai Central from Arakkonam was approaching the station at that time. Unawre of it Sahana attempted to cross the tracks.

“She was using an earphone listening to music on her mobile phone. She could not hear the shout of other commuters about the approaching train, S Sekar, Inspector, Government Railway Police, Perambur told PTI.

When she noticed the train, it was only several feets away. “As if guided by intuition and presence of mind, she lay down between the tracks and miraculously survived. There were no injuries but for minor bruises,” the Inspector said, adding that she was in a state of severe shock and was taken to a hospital.

A lot has been done by Rlys to warn the people , not to cross the TRACK ? But, I mean But people do take great risk, but one in a few hundreds get hit & die. It is the relatives who will continue to suffer because of Mental Agony, cannot blame anyone but, will be haunted by the victim ?

One positive solution is the construction of sub-ways in such a manner, unmindful of expenses, & totally providing NO access to the Track , as done in PAZHAVANTHANGAL.
We cannot expect all to think of risk of DEATH when you confidently cross the track, thinking that He can Do it ?

Crossing Railway lines along Beach/ Tambaram Section happens in most of the Stations because of mushrooming of colonies around the Railway tracks.

There should be a Wall constructed separating any access to Railway Track from these colonies; also Ticket counters at both ends of the Platforms.

hi
in india...human life is very cheap....law never works....law makers are law breakers....common sense required thses things....

now a days everybody has cellphones....young kids/gals use earphone to hear music/and continuous talking with boy friends....

i prefer banning cellphones in many places will be remedy or limited usage in public areas....not only in railway crossing/but

sometimes even crossing the roads ...many accidents are happening....generally we learn after a BIG ACCIDENT ONLY....

PRECAUTION IS BETTER THAN REMEDY....

I dont have even the slightest pity for cases like this.

Dont people know not to listen to earphones while crossing a road/railtracks etc..thats just common sense.

I have noted this sickening trend of people on earphones these days.

Its sickening cos people are so easily distracted by their mobile phones.

Even in the gym I go to..people these days just hog a machine and do not even work out properly.
They just keep sitting at a machine ..playing their mobile phone and then resume their workout and then stop again to see their messages in mobile phone and end up not doing any bloody work out but deprive others from using the machine.

Dont know why people can just know how to prioritize?

you are right, they do not deserve any sympathy ;nowadays young girls use ear phones hearing songs while walking on the road unmindful of the traffic around them; they use it while travelling by Auto, missing the routes!!

Dear PJ sir,

I even get patients who wear their earphones while I am examining them and they expect the doctor to wait for them to answer their call and then proceed. For such patients I usually tell them I would give them sometime outside till they have done with their call and meanwhile I would see the next patient.

Right away they would off their mobilephones and behave for a while but then start again to send text messages even while lying down during examination!LOL

So its a useless trend these days..both males and females are equally guilty of this.
