Imagine an immigration officer at the airport asking you all kinds of intimate questions, and then stalking you and asking you vulgar things, at the airport while you are alone. Sounds like a nightmare? This is what happened with a Bengalurean.

Apparently “the sky’s the limit” doesn’t apply to sexual offenders in India. In yet another shameful incident a homemaker from Bengaluru was verbally & sexually harassed by an immigration officer at the Delhi airport on March 18 when she was flying to Hong Kong via Delhi.

Her mother-in-law filed a complaint and wrote a detailed letter to PK Bhardwaj, Commissioner, Bureau Of Immigration, Delhi, excerpts from which are mentioned here.

"Do You Sleep With Other Men?" ? Airport Official Asks Woman Passenger From Bangalore

Had the woman belonged to minority faith and the officer from other than minority faith, the whole media would have gone gaga with 24x7 looped shouting and blaming all sanghis. The nun who hogged the headline has returned to kerala, forgiven the supposed raper, and medical reports are secret. The media was on high decibel for a few days, two bangladesis were arrested from mumbai, and all have become silent. Rape and murder of a ramakrishna mission sadvi around the same time nearby has been blacked out. A monk from the same mission was tied to a post and beaten black and blue is also not fit for media coverage.

The lady took necessary steps as per the procedures and lodged a complaint; it is accepted and concerned ministry/authorities are taking action. Hope the same 'wait for investigation' logic is applied to all incidents, even when sanghis are falsely accused.
