Hijab is banned in public schools in France and Belgium Now dress code by CBSE for entrance exam!

New Delhi, July 24:The Supreme Court Friday refused to entertain a plea of an Islamic organization that Muslim girl applicants be allowed to wear 'hijab' (scarf), a customary religious dress, in the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test tomorrow.

There have been malpractices in the past in the entrance exam and a reexam is being conducted under orders of the honourable court.Strict dress conditions to prevent

malpractices is being enforced

It would be unwise to bring religion into it.

We should not bring religion into examination rules and regulations...There seems to be no limit for the M community to terrorise the Hindus in this country by bringing in religion in all mundane matters! These cause revulsion among the majority community which is counter productive to their safe living!

Religion should not be brought into Secular setting. There is always an alternative for any "religious" fanatics, they can avoid the event all together.
If religion is more important than the career, there is clear choice. Do not make others change because of a narrow view. So tomorrow a Man wants to go to Ladies bathroom because of some "religious" views, society does not have to accommodate such views.

CBSE’s new dress code: Nun in headscarf ‘barred’ from medical entrance test

This comes a day after the Supreme Court refused to allow AIPMT aspirants to wear a hijab, saying that “your faith won’t disappear” if it is not worn on a particular day.

A Catholic nun in Kerala was reportedly not allowed to sit for the All-India Pre-Medical Entrance Test (AIPMT) on Saturday as she was wearing a habit (headscarf) and a cross around her neck.

The same treatment would have happened to a Hindu boy wearing a metallic Om! Most of the fraudsters are using blue tooth devices to connect with external facilitators in this con game!

Sir

I agree.

But it is reported in dailies that “The Kerala high court had on Tuesday allowed two students, Nidha Raheem and Asiya Abdul Kareem, to write their examinations wearing full-sleeve clothes and hijab. It directed CBSE authorities to depute a female invigilator at the examination centre while asking the students to present themselves to the invigilator 30 minutes before the test".

AIPMT 2015 retest: CBSE implements strict dress code to deter cheating

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued strict guidelines for the dress code to be followed for the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) retest. Following the cheating racket across the country, which reached the scale of an organised crime, the board is not ready to leave any loopholes and is resorting to stringent measures to ensure the same.

The candidates have been instructed to wear only trousers, a half sleeve kurta or t-shirt and flip flops. They cannot wear shoes, belts, scarves, caps or even clothes with large buttons or badges. CBSE has cracked down on accessories as well, the candidates are not allowed to wear any religious charms or 'magic' amulets/jewellery. There will a check on almost all types of accessories, such as earrings, nose rings, necklaces, brooches, chains, bracelets, pendants, etc.

The restrictions on clothing are not limited to the type of clothes, the board has gone to the extent of prescribing the pattern and colours of the garments as well. It has notified that only light coloured clothes should be worn, and there should be no flowers or any other elaborate pattern on the outfit.

Here's a comprehensive list of the banned and permitted items for the exam:

Permitted items:

  • Half-sleeve t-shirts
  • Kurtas
  • Salwars
  • Trousers
  • Open slippers
  • Only light colours

  • Mobile phone
  • Bluetooth
  • Ear phone
  • Microphone
  • Pager

  • Wallet
  • Handbag

Uniforms should be a must for students in educational institutions. So also there should be dress regulations for the teaching staff. Uniforms will iron out economic disparity among the students and give dignity to the teaching staff.
I remember the days when my uncles were working in The Imperial Bank of India. They were wearing white dress either dothis or full pants. Also some head gear like hats, turbans or caps.
When we accept uniforms for legal profession I do not understand why some one should object for educational institution. In case there is some religious reasons for reservation this should be discussed and resolved and not confronted and rejected.
