[h=1]No more half ticket: Children of 5-12 years of age to pay full train fare from April 2016[/h]From April next year, children of the age group of 5 to 12 years of age will be charged full fare instead of half as the Railways has revised the child fare rule.

Under the revised provision, full adult fare will be charged for children of age 5 years and under 12 years of age if for whom berth/seat (in reserved class) is sought at the time of reservation.

However, there shall be no change in the rule for child fare of unreserved tickets which means fare for children of 5-12 years for unreserved tickets shall continue to be half of the adult fare.

Economy should mean restricting legislaters, MPs quota in higher classes. The savings will be a lot more .IN many cases , they block the seats until last moments and

many AC Ist seats go unoccupied. Think of these losses.

Any move that is made , it is only to hurt general public . Children and senior citizens are vulnerable sections with no voice. Why move to remove one or two privileges

they have.

The Railway Minister wanted to rehabilitate Indian Railways. But this is definitely not one of the methods by which to achieve his goal.

He can seek opinion from general public and take appropriate action.
