It is a welcome development! Will the MP's vote for this bill? The cost of a 1 hour of Parliament work is 25 Lacs...Even if implemented will it have an impact on the MP's...May not financially...But will this reprimand improve things...In the private sector if you are absent for a day, you have give an explanation...But hwo about erring MP's...Requires serious introspection!

Union tourism minister Mahesh Sharma said on Saturday that the government was mulling “no-work-no-pay” formula for parliamentarians.
VARANASI: Even as the Opposition continues to disrupt Parliament, gunning for senior BJP leaders, Union tourism minister Mahesh Sharma said on Saturday that the government was mulling "no-work-no-pay" formula for parliamentarians.
"Jis tarah se naukarshahon ko kam nahin to vetan nahi, usi tarah se sansad mein kam nahi hone par vetan nahi par sarkar vichar kar rahi hai (Just like no-work-no-pay formula is applied for bureaucrats, the government is mulling the option of stopping salaries if Parliament transacts no business because of disruption," said Sharma when asked about the ongoing deadlock in Parliament.
Both Houses of Parliament have barely functioned in the Monsoon session with the Opposition demanding the resignations of external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje and Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan over Lalitgate and Vyapam scam.
Sharma, who was in Varanasi to launch a mobile phone app for tracking historical monuments, said the government was taking the continuous deadlock in Parliament seriously. "Congress had no valid issue to raise in Parliament as it had gone intellectually bankrupt. Parliament is a place for debate on serious issues and not trivial matters," he said, holding Congress and other opposition parties responsible for the impasse.
