In passing away of Sri Prativadi Bhayankaram Srinivasacharya popularly known as P.B.Srinivas, yesterday at Chennai, the Cinema world has lost a versatile singer. He was known for his melodious lilting bass voice with the tinge of nasal tone suited for top rated Cine Artists like Gemini Ganesan (Tamil), Rajkumar (Kannada). Rajkumar affectionately called Srinivas as his "voice" in pictures.His Tamil songs Kalangalil Aval Vasamtham,Ponnundru Kanden, Inbam Pongum Vennila, Parthen sirithen,Maalayil Malarsolaiyil and Bharathi’s ‘Kaatru Veliyidai Kannamma’ are ever green in our memory. His Kannada songs Aadisi nodu, Olave jeevana sakshatkara, Naavaaduva nudiye Kannada nudi are popular among the masses.
He was a linguist with fluency in more than half a dozen languages.
May his soul rest in peace.

I can never forget the sweet song மாலையில் மலர்ச்சோலையில்!
We (all the five siblings) loved the song.
We lived a little farther away from the only theater in our village.
We can hear the song very well from the bedroom upstairs.
We would finish eating and be up in the bedroom to listen to this song.
Every single day as along as the movie was running.
I do not know wheter my sister Smt. Raji Ram remembers this.
She is much younger to me!

When I was in Chennai in 1978, I used to see PBS very often in Woodlands Hotel at Radhakrishnan Salai all alone sitting in a corner in the dining hall busy composing some song and scribbling in a piece of paper.Probably,that was the place where he found to get free flow of ideas.
