Pitru Tharpanam on Akshaya Tritaya

Recently I had occasion to see message from Hindu Jagrath Manch on Akshaya Tritiya,where in they have mentioned that Pitru Tharpanam has to be done Akshaya Tritiya. I have however not come across this anywhere else. We normally do Tharpanam on Amavasya days and some months beginning like Chitthirai, Aadi, Aippasi and Thai.
Can someone clarify.

brahmins must do 96 tharpanams . the tharpana sankalpams with english date is there in rituals ceremonies and poojas sticky thread mahalaya tharpana vidhi in the 5th and 6th page.this is called shannavathy tharpanams.retired persons can do this. it is very difficult for office goers.

This was not my query. I asked if Tharrpanam is to be done on Akshaya Tritiya

this day is krutha yukaathi day. so you have to do tharpanam.. yukaathi punya kaalae yukaathi punya kaala sraaththam thila tharpanam athya karishyea.
