Dear sir,

Its not confusing....its just like life.

Each event in life is like a pearl held together by the thread of life to create a necklace of existence.

Likewise..here each post is held in place by the existence of a thread to create an ocean of information.

ratna and sutra are clear Who is the sutradar?

So you threw the ball into Mr.praveen's court. So it is now for Praveen to defend and answer the aquiry raised by me . Well done instead of giving a clear. Answer "post a thread" post and thread desperately..

A Thread is a starting point of a Discussion , where members are expected to Pick up that THREAD for further discussion and the thread continues on topics unconnected with original Thread there by gathering more information and discussions

Posts are only commented up on and a comments are only on the post unlike a Thread where the Discussion may be on a different subject.

In short,
A thread is a new topic; A post a single entry in a thread.

When you areposting new thread why then it is called post. and thread. In what way they differ. Why there are posts and threads. Is it not confusing?

Whether it is post, thread or Needle.."What is being done" only to be seen "Instead of How it is being Done".. Thread is nothing but a Basket..sometimes Overflowing basket...with discussions not related to the post..and what it can achieve except giving an impression of Waste paper Basket..

A rational explanation expressed clearly.

When you click on a forum's name, you are taken to the list of threads it contains. A thread is a conversation between members or guests. Each thread starts out as a single post and grows as more individual posts are added by different users. Threads can be rated (?) to show how useful or popular they are and may contain polls (?).
To start a new thread simply click on the + Post New Thread button

Tutorials NOT enough! :nono:

Here is a step by step guide to open a new thread.

1. Enter our forum.

2. Select the correct forum in which the thread has to be posted.. Like General Discussion / Literature / Chit chat / .....

3. Left click on the selected forum and a page will appear with different threads.

4. Scroll down the page and find '+ Post New Thread',
seen in a blue rectangular box.

5. Left click on '+ Post New Thread'.

6. In the page that appears, fill up the topic in the space provided for 'Title'.

7. Type out the opening post of the topic in the 'message box'. (Add icons if you wish!)

8.
To add any icon to the title, left click on the icon to be added, from 'Post Icons'.

9. Scroll down that page and left click on 'Submit New Thread'.

Lo and behold! The new thread will appear in the relevant forum!

P.S: Awaiting new threads from TBS Sir.
:ranger:

Sorry i just saw this now.

This is from the FAQ and i quote here

The bulletin board as a whole contains various categories (broad subject areas), which themselves contain forums (more specific subject areas) which contain threads (conversations on a topic) which are made up of individual posts (where a user writes something).

The board home page has a list of categories and forums, with basic statistics for each - including the number of threads and posts, and which member posted the most recent message.

How do I find my way around?
