Here is the story. Narada (in his previous birth was the son of a daasi aka servant)


He did not know who was his father. Nor could his mother tell him with certainty


since a daasi in those days had to cater to all the needs of the guests-


 whom she were taking care of - during their stay with her master.



When Narada was asked about his father he said he did not know about his father.


The people present there were shocked by the bold truth and told him,


"You must be the son of brahmin since no one else


will admit a truth of this kind, in a group of people!"
