After Satya Nadella from Manipal Institute of Technology heading Microsoft, we now have Rajeev Suri heading Finnish telecommunication equipment maker Nokia in quick succession...Great going for Indians! What is next in store?

He too studied in Manipal(MITl) same college as Sathya Nadella.

Manipal seems to produce very successful individuals in various fields.

In earlier days Manipal used to be looked down upon as it was considered to be a

"donation' college since they admitted on basis of money than academic credentials .NRIs

patronised it.only the well off would go there . now perhaps things have changed . locals do

not mind shelling out money for quality education

Manipal was never considered to be academically brilliant....The IIT's, BITS Mesra & Pilani and the NIT's are far ahead

But it may be that the guys from Manipal are all rounders..A combination of brain and brawn..Good leadership qualities and above all smartness ..In the 80's the guys who did not get admission in any of the above joined there with higher fees (capitation fees?)

I think there is a vacacy in Blackberry (which is in doldrums) too for the Head honcho position..May be another Manipal guy can apply for that! LOL!!
