The Raspberry Pi is a $35 computer that has fostered innovation, and has encouraged many to tinker. Many have made interesting creations with the Raspberry Pi, and some are truly innovative.

Now, the Raspberry Pi Foundation is taking it one step forward, by enabling customization and mass-production of the Raspberry Pi (Minimum order is 3000 units). Essentially, anyone can customize the design of the Pi as per their requirements (Unnecessary ports can be removed and more interfaces can be added). Secondly, with the help of their partnership with Element 14, the Raspberry Pi Foundation is enabling mass-production of these boards,

This can be really helpful for those who are using the Raspberry Pi as the brains for their next project. It makes mass-production much more easier.

However, it is not yet known how much time it would take to produce these customized boards, and there is no information about the price.

What do you think? Are we going to see more commercial Raspberry-Pi implementations?
