Smartphones are no longer the point of massive growth for the technology Industry and have slowed down. They have handed the beacon over to Virtual Reality, which is poised to become the biggest technology revolution of this decade.
Google’s Android played a large part in the popularity of Smartphones, and according to the WSJ, Google is thinking of extending this openness to Virtual Reality, with a free Virtual Reality Platform that can be adopted by anyone.
It will be headed by the same guy behind Google Cardboard, which is Google’s extremely low-cost makeshift Virtual Reality Headset.
We don’t know any other details about Android for Virtual Reality. Android for VR is one of Google’s many plans for world domination through Android, with Android for Cars, Android Wear, Android TV and Android for Smartphones.
