During the two-day farce that Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and his retinue enacted in the name of dharna, the CM dismissed Republic Day as a ‘VIP event’ that kept the aam aadmi out. He even threatened to disrupt the parade by filling Rajpath with lakhs of supporters if his demands were not met. But while doing all this, the CM didn’t share his vision of Republic Day, just like before and after the elections he didn’t share his vision of ‘good governance’ but kept on playing the corruption card. The CM and his party demonstrated a worrying naivety on political issues that day, but what he did on January 25 was outright obscene.

At the Chhatrasal Stadium in north Delhi on Saturday, CM Kejriwal presided over Delhi’s official Republic Day celebrations. The CM before him, Sheila Dikshit, had used this platform to reflect on the growth of the capital and her party’s role in it and set the agenda for future development. Kejriwal tried doing the same, but soon lost the plot and started slamming his critics, the media and police. He completely forgot that he was at a police parade and not at some roundabout staging a dharna. But then he did something that horrified most of us: he didn’t return salute of the parade commander and walked off the podium. It was a bolder and much more serious display of contempt that Kejriwal has for protocol and the democratic institutions of this country.

AAP - facing the issue of choosing the correct constiuency- ie poor and marginal class sandwiched between poor and middle class such as skilled fellows such as plumbers, carpenters, domestics against middle class and rich. his dharna and tirades against policemen is solidifying his support base amongst these sections. for the rich ,AAP is the in thing to flaunt ,they are not duly bothered. middle class is disappointed. AAp is facing the problem of governing what they have got ie delhi and scaling up to fight loksabha elections without an economic agenda in place. AAP moves against policemen will have the support of whole delhi.all this churning in political classes will change the face of politics in india
