Dear TVK Sir,

The steps in some dance numbers on the silver screen are branded 'kuththAttam'; I did not know the meaning.

Recently, I knew that it means nothing but the actions shown by the boys, in the clipping you have posted above!

Disgusting and maddening, really! :mad2:

silver screen caters to the lowest common denominater.

the men in front row should be prepared to pay and watch.

that degrades the taste to a large extent.

one can get an elevating experience also thru good cinema.

one has to be choosey and selective in watching films

I think it is an eye opener for the those of us who do not live under harsh conditions, and hence unpalatable... probably given their abysmal state of living, these are but a natural outflow.

The low income lot do it so, while the rest have it in bars and party halls...

Recently I had the misfourtune of watching a programme " Maanada Mayil AAda' in TV .. I don't have words to describe the vaugarity in the dance movements.. It is this type of programmes along with to-day's trend in Cenema causes the maximum damage.. A convenient argument by the supporters is always.."If don't like it..then don't see it"....But the corrupt & self-centered industry or the Govt..never bothered about the consequences..

There are no censors ...You can publish anything..It looks cheap, vulgar and horrendous...In Delhi's slums children watch pornography...What sort of an individual will they become when they grow older is anybody's guess

I had a colleague (when I was working in a factory, long ago) who had 9 siblings of either gender. During our talks it emerged that my friend had 4 or 5 younger siblings and also that his elder sisters stayed with them after marriage and begot children. All in a BPL (by present day standards) family living in a single room (Chawl) in one of Bombay's poorest localities. To my question as to how they could maintain privacy, his reply was very surprising; he said he knew all about sex and intercourse and many other things even before he started learning the alphabets.

People in India (that is Bharat) may still be there living under such conditions. For such children this dance may not mean anything vulgar. It is only for Bhadraloks like us!

sangomji

your post appears very credible.

poor in slums get exposed to sex very early in life .

they may not see anything vulgar in dance posted.

only middle class sentiments are hurt. in fact we feel revolted.

which is better?
