There is a demand to change the emblem or logo Of T.N. to replace the கோபுரம் with திருவள்ளுவர் picture to express our secular aspirations and often you have murmurs when a Govt. function is started with breaking coconut or lighting kuthuvillaku (inauguration a new train ) This is a tradition followed. Is this non secular? But cutting ribbon or cutting Cakes is accepted. Is this practice part of our tradition? Jambu

there are two ways of looking at this.

one from a historical perspective. even the current day atheists, muslims, xtians et al, if they have a tamil heritage, i think, should view the temple gopuram as a unique tamil culture contribution to art.

the structure design , though thousands of years old, is still part and parcel of a thriving current day tamil hinduism. it is the same as the pyramids of egypt, which is uniquely pre islamic egyptian origin. i think every egyptian barring the jihadists (who i think will blow these away like the afghani buddhas) is proud of that pharaoic heritage.

in the eyes, of fanatic christians, muslims, i can understand that the temple there is a symbol of hinduism, which they might find objectionable. replace it with a squat figure of an imagined resemblance to our revered sage, is but taking representation to another level - the muslims do not like depiction of humans. the xtians might find valluvar, sans the desert robe, headgear and staff, find him unbiblical.

these are political winds, and they will blow. it is important that we as a community do not take this to heart, and look upon it as a reflection of our even more alienation from the tamil tribes. it is best that our attitude be, 'if others do not care, so be it. let us move on'.

i understand that this post is neither consoling or rallying to a cause. it is penned with more a focus on reality. hopefully when MK passes on, sanity will be restored.. i see both stalin much a stable and level headed person, if it should so happen, that he climbs into the அரியாசனம்.

any change requires peoples participation.

in tn,people are coerced,intimidated,vulgar behaviour..etc by some bad elements who are a minority.this minority shud ignored instead of giving importance.

gopuram is an architecture civil engineers delight design.tamils are proud of our art.

dr.mu ka is a sensible human being and leader of one of the most powerful dravidian party founded by anna dorai.

anna's spirit will raise,if any gopuram is messed around,alongwith with his spirit 'mgr' will raise again like the phoneix bird,to protect our cultural heritage.

maybe only periyar's spirit will gleefully rejoicing,as he was a foreign agent and spy to ruin tamil culture.every periyar statue shud have birds droppings as alangaram,especially of those from doves,messengers of peace.

as kunjuppu compared to egypt's pyramid which is pre-islamic in nature,and even that humans are digging it up.will any christian nation dig its ancestrors grave?will any islamic nation dig its ancestors grave.such grave digging is unethical and inhuman in nature.these nations who surreptiously rob other nations wealth and not respect the dead,their future generation will be paying in misery,poverty and what not,a virtual heel on earth.peace and love.

genius can never be inherited in most cases.of course to some cartoonists dr.mu ka is a 'loose payyan'.stalin of russia was a source of inspiration to russians first and to dr.mu ka later.if original stalin is a role model to dr. mu ka's son,hmmmmmm.....dynastic succession,i thot ended with raja rani days,apparently not in tn?wonder what real raja rani dynasties think about india,and where are they,as their genes shud be intact even now.
