Coimbatore: Unable to pay the school fees of Rs 40,000, a 25-year-old woman killed her daughter by forcing her to drink water mixed with pesticide at Avinashi in Tirupur district on Monday evening. The woman then attempted to kill herself but her neighbors managed to rush her to the local hospital in time.

The deceased was identified as B Joshika, 8, from Kamarajar Street, Avinashi in Tirupur district. Joshika had completed Class 2 at Viveka Kids School on Nedumachery road near Sinneripalayam.

Why is there a craze to join a elite convent...Government schools are subsidized & she could have put her child there...This is the problem with most of us..We always look up & spend beyond our means!

Vganesh Ji,

There is another side....

Why allow schools to charge exorbitant fees..

What is the check...??

Cash for votes in election; Cash for admission in Schools.
In the former case, we blame the giver where as in the latter case, we blame the taker……. forgetting in either cases, all parties are to be blamed.

All types of corruptions, sorry to point out, are nothing but different types of prostitution of mind.

Sad news this. Poor kid.

It is the urgent thinking of the parents to place ego and esteem over prudence, knowledge and perseverance that we see such tragedy. The problem is not with school fees but with the mentality of the commoner.
