Sunday Reflections

Another sunday after a week of life disruptions.

Water dispute between two southern states throwing life into disarray.

I ended up in bangalore on 13th sept one day after supreme court judgement.

There was a bandh call.

The taxi drive on empty roads around 10 am from airport to city -a good 48km via NH44- was fast[less than one

hour as against 90min normal and incident free though risky.I over paid the driver a couple of hundreds more for

risking his life for me.He was a local kannadiga.

All shops closed and life at a standstill for the day.

Now after 5days city has limped back to normal.

I strongly felt it was a crisis created by politicians of two southern states and supreme court.

Both had sufficient stored water until rains in tamilnadu expected shortly and this deficiency is a yearly event.

Supreme court should have left the issue to executive at the centre instead of intervention.

Now by whipping up emotions of common people, bangalore has become unsafe for tamils

My home state delhi is facing chikkangunya epidemic with AAP , BJP and congress politicking about it.

I do not know which is safer delhi or bangalore?

Hyderabad is no better with torrential rains with half the city under water. Chennai is no heavan either with token

cauvery strike and newwoodlands hotel where I normally stay getting attacked.I hope the bleak scenario improves

for the better in days to come

I thought I was better off outside the country where I was couple of weeks back.lol

Abroad, we should be ready to face the music anywhere we go on account of racial discrimination except African countries, but those countries are unsafe!!

It was organized crime in Bengaluru...In TN it was isolated...There are so many Tamils in Bengaluru...I guess we should have less dependence on river water...May be more on sea water conversion, use drip irrigation, go for crops that are less water intensive...It will change the life line of Thanjavur region!!

You could have asked an astrologer who is well versed with the "science" of astrology and he would have advised you, well before hand, of the Bangalore riots !!!

This member praised Supreme Court Judges in one post..

Commended Tamil Nadu Government for its best administration in another post....

Now he has come here to grumble against all..........LOL

I regularly see Chennai Vs Delhi fights in this forum...I guess no 2 states can live in peace.

These are personality clashes! You can see conservative vs modern; modern vs ultra modern, eastern Vs western opinions

At the end of the day even those who have same personalities would clash with each other if they can't find a "victim"!LOL

Of course, ' storm in a tea cup' is unavoidable in a Forum like this which is a mixture of personalties.

And for the 'Victims', I think that it may depend purely on the individual's star and planet movement/position in his horoscope on that particular day.

And those who are experts with the trick of tallying mismatching horoscopes by suitably amending/fabricating them knows this well.

And the interesting fact is some do have a 'bee in their bonnet' on such topics.

I thought I was better off outside the country where I was couple of weeks back.lol

BTW will anyone in this Form please suggest a country under the sun where there is no cases of riots, dispute, unrest, strike, bandh, disturbance, etc ??

I saw the movie recently. A lot of fighting happened on both sides before the peace. Did the Delhi people come out on top in that story?

I was very impressed with law and order in beijing where I was a few weeks back.

Even late evenings I could safely take a cab back to hotel.

Motorists having respect for law ,observing lane driving and traffic signals.

No loitering on the roads.

Migration of labour from rural to urban cities strictly controlled with regional passport system.

Students for higher studies in cities given hostels and separate colleges for studies.

I did not see anyone begging anywhere.

I felt extremely safe.

Read chetan bhagats 'Two states' on how two states can live in peace.

It is not about two States, it is about two families belonging to two different States..... there were trails and tribulations .... in couple coming together ..... hardships faced by them to convince their parents for approval of their marriage......which makes the story interesting.

hi

sometimes single party system works very wellll..... sometimes multi party system makes more chaos...

I think in our Tamilnadu if we, with the help of the present govt., start attempts to do good rain harvesting as we got rains more than AP and Karnataka in previous years, instead of joining in Bandh etc with Politicians and other unions we need not beg or seek mercy of Supreme court judgement in legal fight for water from Karnataka. Every year prior to monsoon the pre requisite arrangements in lakes, ponds etc and in every house/flats etc such rain water harvesting is placed. The public each and every one if they feed cows, the water of rinsing the rice, dhalls etc good rains in regular inervals would come and in stead of floods like in yester year.

Most TN farmers are intelligent.

They are shifting to alternate crops requiring less water.

most feel govt is too late in intervention..

nothing prevented the two CMs from getting together for a temporary solution to the issue.

Rural economy in TN is getting distorted due to free power leading to excessive pumping and free flow of water into fields

than required.

procurement and distribution with leakages is leading to movement of agricultural products to neighbouring states.

It is the hotels in TN and neighbouring states who are benefitting due to generosity of govt.
