dear friends i note there is nothing about terrace gardening i have started it only this year in january with the help of my organic terrace garden group in face book and have grown many vegetables and blooms here is the first yellow lily bloomed today, the cabbage beauties look picturisque the tomatoes were a pleasure to grow the black beauties were great for enne kathrikka and so soft diff from what we get from the market and the cowpeas very very tender used to go into mixed vegetables now i have winged beans growing it is so rare u dont find here in bangalore, how many of you have these terrace garden with u...do share ur experience here will me....sunkan

i am jealous of you all
Very recently, I put a tin roof over my terrace
(to reduce the heat on the lower floor)
and my roof garden dream is lost forever
Can anybody suggest some vegetables
which can grow in shade ?

Grown in pot terrace These type of wild flowe plants lasts for years But roses etc may not survive

I shunt between Chennai (DLF Garden City OMR) and Banglore (Sobha Honey Dew Sarakki Road Bangalore) Basically rooted in Madurai where we have a house with terrace In Madras and Bangalore we do not have terrace only few balconies since they are apartments !

may be KEERAI......even baigan/bindi can grown in a shaded terrace....just try....

My interest is more than "terrace garden" I have a kitchen gaden and is actively interested in social forestry as well You see vethilai and Mullangi in my K.Gadren. the road I live is so woody because of the trees we have planted, the temple elephant visit us frequently to relax, to,have shower and lunch with us
