The Indian subcontinent has provided the world with countless treasures. Some of these are physical such as spices, music, gems, writings - both poetry and prose, and fine paintings among many others. Some of these are intangibles including philosophies, religions, and the Dharma. Not the least of these exports is Yoga. Yoga means many things to many people for many it is simply a physical practice. Some of us who are dedicated to teaching it by taking a more holistic approach incorporating all eight limbs of the asthanga yoga into our lessons and practice. For us it is a way of life, a key to samadhi, and a connection with that Great Thing that may not be pointed at (neti neti) if you will. This thread is a thread of thanks to those great beings who, through tapping into yoga attained a state in which they experienced true smriti (that which is remembered) and conveyed those messages to the world. Who through ardent practice have shared connection, possibility, and presence with the world as a whole.
