The Story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Three%20Bears%20New_3.jpg

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Goldilocks. She went for a walk in the forest. Pretty soon, she came upon a house. She knocked and, when no one answered, she walked right in.

At the table in the kitchen, there were three bowls of porridge. Goldilocks was hungry. She tasted the porridge from the first bowl.
"This porridge is too hot!" she exclaimed.
So, she tasted the porridge from the second bowl.
"This porridge is too cold," she said
So, she tasted the last bowl of porridge.
"Ahhh, this porridge is just right," she said happily and she ate it all up.
After she'd eaten the three bears' breakfasts she decided she was feeling a little tired. So, she walked into the living room where she saw three chairs. Goldilocks sat in the first chair to rest her feet.
"This chair is too big!" she exclaimed.
So she sat in the second chair.
"This chair is too big, too!" she whined.
So she tried the last chair.
"Ahhh, this chair is just right," she sighed. But just as she settled down into the chair to rest, it broke into pieces!
Goldilocks was very tired by this time, so she went upstairs to the bedroom. She lay down in the first bed, but it was too hard. Then she lay in the second bed, but it was too soft. Then she lay down in the third bed and it was just right. Goldilocks fell asleep.

As she was sleeping, the three bears came home.
"Someone's been eating my porridge," growled the Papa bear.
"Someone's been eating my porridge," said the Mama bear.
"Someone's been eating my porridge and they ate it all up!" cried the Baby bear.
"Someone's been sitting in my chair," growled the Papa bear.
"Someone's been sitting in my chair," said the Mama bear.
"Someone's been sitting in my chair and they've broken it all to pieces," cried the Baby bear.

They decided to look around some more and when they got upstairs to the bedroom, Papa bear growled, "Someone's been sleeping in my bed,"
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed, too" said the Mama bear
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed and she's still there!" exclaimed Baby bear.

Just then, Goldilocks woke up and saw the three bears. She screamed, "Help!" And she jumped up and ran out of the room. Goldilocks ran down the stairs, opened the door, and ran away into the forest. And she never returned to the home of the three bears.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Goldilocks. She lived at the edge of the forest wit

I simply love this story..but only today I realized that there is much more in this story that meets the eye.

Goldilocks must have been a Middle path follower.

She chose a porridge that was neither too hot nor too cold.

She chose a seat that was neither too big nor too small.

She choose a bed that was neither too hard nor too soft.

I wonder why these points were never really highlighted when we learnt these story?

All we were told that Goldilocks was a naughty little girl who entered the house of the three bears.

It should be highlighted that Goldilocks had a very balanced approach in life.

Middle class people are like that

What is the sense in following a middle path , leading a boring life, calling it balanced to satisfy oneself.

middle class believes in averaging out in everything, never excelling in anything, never taking a stand on anything and going with the majority

Achievers think differently, tread a different path , get the motivation to achieving the impossible taking risks and against odds

middle class - janam gavake jayenge, Achievers - Janam bithake jayenge

Dear Krish ji,

I disagree...I was not born in a middle class family ..I was born in a fairly well to do family but even then my choices in life has always been moderate.

My father always emphasizes that money does not make or break a person..money can come and money can go and if choose to be extremes we lose out in life.

I feel that approach in life is good becos having a moderate approach in life does not mean we do not excel..we do excel but we do not let success get to our head.

One can achieve even while being moderate.

I have never ever competed in my life in anything right from studies to anything else but yet I excelled in what I ventured in without the need to feel I am in any rat race.

You have missed out on the kicks of competing and winning against odds.

You have not got the extra heart beats , when you set goals higher than your perceived capability and sometimes taking risks to achieve them.

Your existing achievements can keep you in comfort but what comes out of doing what others think is very difficult is totally a different feeling.

If as a GP , you do the the job of a specialist then you are to be admired.

if you sacrifice your complacent existence and achieve in totally different field that you care for , the joy of that is manifold.

many times , in totally unrelated sphere , I try my hand just to see how it feels. If I succeed , then I pat my own back to feel happy.

That I consider my great achievement

Dear Krish ji,

In school I took part in sports competition was the district sports woman of the year too when I was a teen..was also a state level athlete.

Scored well in school..for one major exam I was the only person in the district who scored a distinction for Malay Language.

I have been Number 1 many times in many situations..been Number 2 sometimes but yet I never felt I competed.

I just took part..so happen I won. That's all.

I never had the fighting spirit.

I held the district record many years as a teen for a sport events ..when someone finally broke my record I gladly become No 2.

No big deal..we can never be No 1 forever.

So I move along those lines.

I didnt want to be a specialist becos I did not want responsibility.

GP is better,.you get to be Jack of all trades..master of none.

I do not work or do anything to be admired..I just do my work.

At the end of the day I make the rules for myself.

So life is simple..

When I opened my clinic the 1st time a friend of mine who also opened a clinic at the same time told me that 'she feels very proud that she has her own business"

Shen then asked me "you must be feeling proud too isnt it?"

I said "No..this was my plan..I carried it out..why get so excited?"

So you see Krish ji..I am a simple conservative person!LOL

nice you underplay well

try to sell the idea in this forum a] that you are a simple b] conservative person .lol

Perhaps Only I will accept since I fear the consequences of non acceptance.lol

you take the responsibility bit too seriously

both positions GP and specialist are equally responsible. specialisation is more ability in a narrow field thats all'

I have also been a jack of so many trades.

Though with with decent engg degree and specialisation from a top college, hardly practised as one.

I hardly set goals and took life as it came and kept changing when I got bored with one field.

could hardly observe rules of any organisation with a firm belief rules are meant to be broken

only indian govt could put up with me

this goal and achievement business is only after retirement since when time is running out one loves to see a lot achieved before croaking.

so move madly taking risks if need be for realising goals in various fields of endeavour

the next generation should feel I have added to what my parents gave me and not blown it away in only frivolous pursuits

You dont get it...as a GP when I cant handle a case I can refer to a specialist right away.

If I am a specialist and I cant handle it..I cant escape!LOL

Also as a GP sometimes when I cant stand a patient I smile from ear to ear and tell them that they need to see a specialist and make sure I refer them and they dont see me again.

I dont waste time dealing with difficult people..I get rid of them right away by referring them to the specialist.

A specialist has no choice...he cant refer a patient anywhere else!LOL

So you see why I get to have more fun?

Dear Renuka,

My husband's cousin is a 'Pediatric Endocrinologist' which she specialized in here in USA, after getting MBBS degree in India. As far as she has narrated to me, she starts her job at 9 AM and promptly leaves work at 5 PM every single day. I browsed on what 'Pediatric Endocrinology' meant, it seems like identifying some disorders of the endocrine glands including Diabetes, and problems with adrenal glands, etc and advocating treatment for them.

But it seems like any specialization will pay you much more? This pediatric endocrinologist easily makes a 6-figure (perhaps more) salary in $$ per annum.

Just sharing a few thoughts...

PS: I adore the doctor profession. They say 'whatever you think of while in death bed, that's what you will become in your next birth', I pray to god I think of becoming a doctor so I can become one in my next birth..

Yes JR...Specialist can earn more than a GP sometimes but not all the while.

For me its simple...life is not about money alone.

Money is just to sustain the body with food, clothes, house and some savings for future generation.

Life is much more than that.

I do not like responsibility...I am kind of care free and have a devil may care attitude.

I do what I have to do but do not like being the top of anything.

When a person is a specialist he/she is at the top of the scale..he cant escape if he cant handle the case.

Just now I treated an ENT case and I felt he needed a referral for some surgery.

So I referred him to a ENT surgeon.

The person was a poor Bangladeshi worker who did not have much money..so I referred him to he government hospital ENT department.

I did not charge this patient for my consultation becos he was old an still working hard here to send money back to his family in Bangladesh.

So as a GP I get to also choose who I want to charge or who gets free treatment.

I like being a GP cos I get to be myself..when a person is a specialist in a major set up they are quite bound by rules of the hospital and they have to generate some amount of income for the hospital itself.

Further more as a GP ..Naane Raja..Naane Manthiri.

I am very relaxed in approach..I cant stand formality. When I used to work in hospitals before becoming a GP..I used to hate attending formal meetings where the director would be blah blah blah non stop!LOL

I cant follow rules..its hard for me to adhere to rules that do not make sense.

So I felt the best for me is to be GP and work by myself.

Its fun.

Now..on my death bed..I would just like to take my last breath and focus on AUM and let my karma shape my next birth...but this is only possible if I die a peaceful death..I have no idea how I will die. If we get a sudden or traumatic death..its not possible to even think of anything.

I would not want to make any wishes at death becos why trap myself into desiring anything.
