This kind of Dadagiri ( Didigiri?) happen even during brahmin weddings.

I was surrounded by the vaadhyak kaarargaL and could not leave the diaz
after the muhurtham during my second son's marriage.

They wanted to make sure that they will be given the 'thaamboolap pai'. I promised them two bags each from both the marriage parties and only then they would let me pass through!

The vaadhyaars played a different game. They recommended extra dhakshiNai to the other team of vaadhyaars. "pakkaththu elaikku paayasam pOdungo"???
