The knitter who loved a hitter

The girl was a baby sitter;
She was a gifted knitter.

She was in love with a hitter;
He was a very quick quitter.

She had to make him fitter;
Since his habit was to flitter.

Often it made her feel bitter;
She concealed it with a titter.

If he were a smooth skitter;
No need to be a heart splitter.

She wished his future to glitter;
And make him the hero of twitter
