The much misjudged Mr. Taft.

Who was named to make the draft?
It was the undependable Mr. Taft!

Did he manage it by giving a graft?
Everyone thought he was a daft!

But all were wrong about Mr. Taft!
He was to the sick a dose of draught;

He was to the refugees a useful raft;
He was to the artists a useful kraft;

He was to the workers a safe haft.
He was to the miners a safe shaft.
