My youngest grandson (3+) reads English very fluently - 


even the material NOT read out to him by his parents.


This is the modern way of learning to read and to remember!


 Grandson older to him by 15 months can not read by can recite the whole book by heart.


It was the ancient method of learning by heart - when books were scarce and rare.


These Sanskrit words convey the same concept.


Sruti = hearing and listening to. 


Smruti = memorising and remembering what one hears
