A proverb a day to brighten the day.


259a. Ein Fuchs kann grau werden, aber niemals gut werden.

259b. A fox may become grey, but never become good.


Inherent tendencies of anyone never really change.

They will be lurking inside to pop out a the right moment.


A scorpion fell int a stream and a man tried to take it out of the stream.

The scorpion bit the hand of the man who saved it and fell in the water again.


This went on several times and a passerby asked,

"Why do you try to save it when all it does is to sting you in return?"


The man replied "It is my nature to save anything  which is drowning. It is the nature of the scorpion to sting anyone who comes too close"
