A proverb a day to brighten the day.

260a. Kein Mann liebt Fesseln - auch wenn sie aus Gold bestehen

260b. No man loves fetters - even if they are made of gold.

Fetters are fetters whether made of iron or silver or gold or studded with diamonds.
Bondage is bondage- however sweet it may look / feel / excite a person.

But bondage is inevitable in human life - since no man is (or can be) an island.
So man must catch hold of the world that binds him but he should not forget God - realizing whom is the real aim of human life.

Maybe we are given two hands to hold on to the world and God at the same time!
