A proverb a day to brighten the day.

278a. Eine Lüge hat kurze Beine. Wie kommt es, dass es schneller und weiter geht als die langbeinige Wahrheit?

278b. A lie has short legs. How come it travels faster and farther than the long legged truth?

Lies are loud and gaudy - in spite of being short legged!
Truths are soft and classy - in addition to being long legged!

So even as the Truth mumbles softly and respectfully,
the Lie screams off its head and spreads faster like fire.
