A proverb a day to brighten the day!

542a.Wer alles verspricht, verspricht nichts!

542b. He who promises everything promises nothing!

Promises MUST BE different from regular conversation.

But some people 'promise' everything when they speak.

They want to drive home the fact that whatever they say is 100% true.

But it has the revere effect since people STOP believing whatever he says.

footnotes:

Wer = He who

verspricht = promises

alles = everything

verspricht = promises

nichts! = nothing.

We have a funny definition for such people.

"He / She who makes four promises a quarter aNA"

aNa was the older monetary system before naya-paise came in to use.

One rupee = 16 aNAs

One aNa = 12 paise

We use could buy some stuff for every single paise = 1 / 192 rupee!

It was a golden era when gold was sold at < 8 rupees / gram!!!!!

Now even an alm given out can't be < 10 Rs!
