Something ....Something!

It is wisdom to empty the pockets before loading the clothes into the washing machine.

It is wisdom to empty the contents before donating clothes / books and throwing out old containers.

The cell phone of my eldest grandson (without a sim card) has gone through the washing and drying cycle twice already - to my knowledge! He still has some use for the phone - though it has had two 'hot and dry' experience already.

Paper Money, important addresses, information, old letters etc often get donated along with the old books. It hardly takes a minute to shake the book, holding the pages facing down, to get the contents out.

Containers get trashed with some precious / semi precious contents by sheer oversight.

A short story I read in Spanish is an eye opener to me and to everyone here!.

A generous rich man Oscar donates his blue sweater to his friend and neighbor - since he did not like its color. His friend finds it too tight and so passed it on to another friend of his.

This friend is allergic to wool and so he passes on the sweater to another friend.

Now this (latest) friend has too many sweaters and so donates it to the Goodwill stores.

The original owner Oscar suddenly remembers something important and now wants his sweater back! He traces its long path and finally reaches the Goodwill store.

He is happy to find that his sweater was still available in the shop and buys it back for 50$. But the storekeeper tells him about a secret pocket in the sweater - which makes Oscar turn pale.

The storekeeper happily goes to say that he found 500$ in that secret packet which he has been added to the donations. The crest fallen original owner Oscar donates the sweater to the shop once again - now that he has no need for it anymore!

P.S

I have heard about people who are extremely fond of their pillows and carry them around everywhere when they travel.

One old lady had hidden several silver coin in her pillow over a period of several years. The weight of the pillow made her family suspect that something was not right. They were both surprised and happy to find a stack of pure silver coins hidden in the pillow!
