But the youngest mother to give birth in recorded history is shockingly a girl old enough to be a kindergartner. Lina Medina, a Peruvian girl, gave birth to a baby boy at the tender age of just five years and seven months in the year 1939.​

[COLOR=#4B4B4B !important]Initially Lina from Peru's Andes was taken to the doctors because of an abdominal swelling which her parents suspected of being a tumour. But tests revealed that Lina was in fact seven months pregnant, according to First To Know. Dr. Gerardo Lozada even observed that the little girl’s mammary glands and sexual organs were fully developed at the time. Lina delivered a baby boy via a C-section on May 14, 1939 and named him, Gerardo, after her doctor.[/COLOR]​

Although Lina’s father had been arrested by the police on suspicions of incest and rape, he was later released due to lack of evidence.
