Time for blinkers? Malaysian local council pulls down Aishwarya’s posters for ‘obscenity’

The local council in Malaysia is convinced that the images could ‘corrupt’ the youth

A local council in Malaysia is upset with Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She is way too sexy for their liking! Reports say that the council got its chaddis into a twist after huge posters of Aishwarya’s watch ad went up at a store in Kelantan, Malaysia. The shop was even fined for putting up the posters.

Aishwarya has been one of the ‘Ambassadors of Elegance’ for Longines, a Swiss watch brand, for the past ten years. However, the local council in Malaysia clearly thinks this ‘elegance’ is nothing short of ‘obscenity’ and is convinced that the images could ‘corrupt’ the youth.

Here are some earlier ads of Longines featuring Aishwarya:

Yes...this happened in an East Coast state run by an Islamic State government.

That state does not allow male and females to sit together in the cinema and even husband and wife have to sit separately and lights would be on in the cinema while movie is being shown.

Any pic of a model not covering her "Aurat" Arabic word for parts that need to be covered up is deemed too sexy.

Since Aishwarya's arms were visible its considered Haram in that state.

Also yesterday a pharmacy got fined for having a pic of a local malay model whose hair was not covered even though decently dressed.

Reason? Cos hair too is considered Aurat.

But among all the states in Msia..that state is the most backward and the youths there have most social problems.
This state shares a border with Thailand.

This only goes to show extremism with lack of freedom does not have benefits in the long run.

This state also has pushed for Hudud Law bill to be passed and that is still under consideration.

The model looks very homely..Prejudiced & Jaundiced eyes by the local authorities...Looks like they have no respect for their mothers & sisters and always see them as objects of sex

Dear Vgane Ji,

Hair is considered Aurat for a woman..so its considered indecent to expose hair for a Muslim woman.

But other states in Msia are Ok..its only that one state that borders Thailand which is very extreme in their thoughts which is proving totally non beneficial to anyone.

But recently even in the state I live...the poster for the Movie Suicide Squad where the actress was clad in shorts was digitally altered to a pair of pants to cover up her legs.

But to tell you the truth...nothing good comes from extremism.
