I had seen a movie once before about the life of children who take part in spelling bee contests.

It's really not worth it..too much stress and they hardly play like normal kids and are just spending time mugging up words.

A bee is free to fly from flower to flower and enjoy nectar but such children never get to enjoy life.

One can pick up spelling anytime in life.

The 1st time ever I studied in English was when I studied my MBBS in India.
Before that I had only studied in Malay medium cos out here in Malaysia our schools are not in English medium.

In fact English is just a subject and a pass in English isn't even compulsory.

But anyhow everyone here knows how to spell and read and write English too even though we do not study in English medium.

I have seen boys prepare for IIT JEE , a sort of entrance Exam for IIT, prepare themselves from standard IX onwards without spending much time playing or watching TV etc.
The same is the case with many School toppers in any Examination.
They do enjoy life in a different way and it is worth studying hard to attain top position in any field.

Dear PJ sir,

These types are Nerds and Geeks who only know academics and nothing else in life.
Most of them are very physically inactive and do not even do regular exercise.

You see sir...in ancient times in Ashrams..students were not nerds or geeks...they were all rounders and the education was focusing on making a person a good student and who was also skilled for life.

In morning each student would have done Yoga..physical work of cleaning the ashram, washing guru's clothes..tending to cows in ashrams etc..so they got to do practical physical activity.

These days most top students only study study and are physically inactive.

PJ sir..all of us also have been top students and its makes a difference in the long run for life..cos once inactivity of the body sets in as a child..even till adulthood inactivity will persists causing all health related problems eventually.

So being active and enjoying free moments in life is nothing new..our ancients practiced that long back.

I am sure you are aware how Sathya Sai Students in Puttaparthi can top in studies, recite Vedas from memory, take part in Yagna and also perform acrobats, gymnastics and death defying stunts during sports functions( some have even put show of riding motorcyle full speed through a fire hoop)

They are real all rounders.

An active body is needed to for an active mind.
