Wedding called off because bride grooms party did not make Traffic Jam!!!!!

NEW DELHI: In an unexpected development which has surprised even the most seasoned marriage pundits and experienced wedding planners, a bride from Rajouri Garden has called-off her wedding because the baraat (or the groom's procession) didn't create a huge and long enough traffic jam outside of the wedding venue.

Addressing the press who gathered soonafter the news got out, the bride said, "Like every girl, I also waited for my big day with an eager anticipation and huge expectations. My cousin's wedding saw a two-kilometre-long traffic jam and the traffic situation was also aired on the radio and Twitter." The bride's mother also supported her daughter's decision saying that she had told all her kitty party friends that the traffic jam will be nothing short of legendary. "Now which girl wouldn't want that to happen on her wedding? I wanted everything to be perfect, including the traffic jam caused due to MY daughter's wedding,", she said.

The wedding planner who had placed special cameras on the arterial road of the city, on which the wedding venue stands, said they had done everything to please their clients but they always seemed unsatisfied with the arrangements. "I even suggested the bride to befriend her colleague with a DSLR camera so that she can save money on photography expenses. Who does that!", said the wedding planner on a condition of anonymity. Now he is worried that he might not be paid his dues as the wedding is off.

Meanwhile the groom was seen requesting passers-by to stop and watch his family dance feverishly on the road for the baraat, to save the wedding. The problem was the baraat was 4 hours late owing to the groom's extended family's drinking spree (or car-o-bar, as we know it), due to which the traffic had thinned down at the wee hours of the night, and hence the baraat was not able to cause a traffic jam.

still it is not peak season for marriages yet .

there are some muhurat days which are considered very auspicious in north.

on those days , all resources bands , ghori, gaslights are not sufficient to meet the needs of weddings in town.

they are time shared between weddings.

traffic gets totally out of control.

there are also mix ups grooms landing at wrong venues.

then there are types you have talked about who would not like to marry without creating traffic jam

What a stupid female! Anyway lucky guy..he escaped from a brainless female who only thinks of pomp and show! and what an equally stupid mother who is more concerned about showing off to her kitty party friends instead of making sure her daughter gets married!

Real brainless mother and daughter..living to show off!LOL

Why cause a traffic jam when one is getting married?

Wont that make other road users angry?

BTW I did not know relatives of the groom drink before a Baraat!

Weird!

What a stupid female!

Weird!

It seems it is a routine thing at Delhi.

We still have such people at capital.

This also shows the lack of sensitivity one has on others' right to use public road.

Don’t know when they are going to learn to celebrate family functions without disturbing the normal life of general public!

But in Chennai nowadays, most of such wedding processions are held inside the wedding hall itself as these wedding halls have a small temple inside. And the procession will start from the temple point and proceed to the hall even if it is minimum twenty feet length.

Previously, I remember the local police used to insist the organisers to get prior permission or at least intimation of such procession especially when taken on main roads.

Procession with most of the relative following, groom seated in an old plymouth car with all shyness accompanying playing kids all around and with a band party, lights etc and sometime on a decorated horse back or rare scenes nowadays,

Chennai is definitely changing.

Public roads are for marrying public also.

Normal people can keep their rights in their pockets and make way for grooms riding horses with band baaja baraat

It is wedding season yaar.

Join them , they do not mind south indians joining bhangra dancing

traffic be damned.lol

If a girl does not show off on wedding day , when will she do that?

It is her day .

Man must reach up to her braving delhi traffic at its worst.

Thats the ultimate rigorous litmus test before she marries him.

if he is laggard and reaches late , then someone else will Dulhaniya ley jayenge [ take away the bride]

These are days of intense competition.

One has to prove capability before girl says yes to marriage

There are number of important prohibited places at Delhi. Let these groups go to these places also and dance there to their heart’s merriness and tell the police when question that it is wedding season.

The police will swing into action and you can find both bride and the groom only inside Tihar next day.lol

what police?

they will also join dancing

Did you not see TV clip of a cop holding a gun at a girls head forcing her to dance non stop in UP/

That made national news.

In wedding season 'sub kuch chaltha hai' Every thing passes.

No one ever objects .

Beacause it is marriage season

You seem to be wandering in your dreamland as usual.lol

While we are talking about Delhi suddenly and conveniently switch over to UP. What is this?

While I am talking about issues of real life, you are mentioning about TV clip, movie songs etc

Here is a specific case of unlawful act by a businessman who attended such a dancing group to celebrate, unfortunately landed at Tihar. This is an actual incident. This is how Delhi Police will act. Try to learn at least from this news item.

Do you have any idea about 307 IPC

Even after such incidents of sorrow, if one fails to learn a lesson, they are undoubtedly termed as ‘incorrigible’ and don’t deserve for engaging in argument..

Well such people will learn to enjoy such dances, when their own kith or kin is in an ambulance waiting for the procession to end, so that they may reach the hospital in time well not before the ‘Golden hour’ or shall learn to enjoy the dance knowing that their own house is on fire, but the poor driver of the 'fire engine' is got stuck up in the 'merry-go-round' dance and procession.

Businessman arrested for firing gun at wedding

NEW DELHI: Gunshots rang out in front of a five-star hotel at Vasant Vihar in south Delhi after a businessman and the personal security officer of another businessman, who were attending a baraat, fired around a dozen rounds in the air. Thanks to two alert beat constables who spotted the men, they were nabbed on the spot.

"The two have been identified as Rohit (25) from Shakti Nagar and Vijender (32) from Sonipat. Vijender is the PSO of a businessman. The weapon of offence, a 7.65 mm revolver which is made in Kanpur, has been seized," said a senior officer. Police have also recovered two empty cartridges and two live rounds of bullets from the spot.

Delhi Police has made it clear that stringent sections of the law will be applied in the cases of celebratory firing. "We have charged the accused under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC along with sections 25, 27 and 54 of the Arms Act. They have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days," said the officer.
