There is a big difference between giving up and letting go. Giving up means selling yourself short. It means allowing fear and struggle to limit your opportunities and keep you stuck. Letting go means freeing yourself from something that is no longer serving you. It means removing toxic people and belief systems from your life so that you can make room for relationships and ideas that are conducive to your wellbeing and happiness. Giving up reduces your life. Letting go expands it. Giving up is imprisoning. Letting go is liberation. Giving up is self-defeat. Letting go is self-care. So the next time you make the decision to release something or someone that is stifling your happiness and growth, and a person has the audacity to accuse you of giving up or being weak, remind yourself of the difference. Remind yourself that you don’t need anyone’s permission or approval to live your life in the way that feels right. No one has the authority to tell you who to be or how to live. No one gets to decide what your life should look like or who should be a part of it. No one, but you. ~ Danielle Koepke

All this is preaching the unrealisable.

Are we able to move an inch without wifes permission? if we do not get approval of the better half,

we may not get our next meal.why are you egging on the oldies to defy powerful forces?

what we should look like or be part of it is decided by a huge circle of family ,relatives and friends.

then there are various authorities , govt and non govt thrust so many things on us. be part of them

or perish

we decide nothing .we are prisoners of those around us. accept and live peacefully.lol

Dear Krish ji,

Letting Go does not mean getting rid of everything in your life like spouse,children,money etc.

Its just existing with everyone and everything but not being overly attached to anyone or anything.

There is still love but the love has metamorphosized into a non-possessive love.

The idea of love we all humans have is a possessive one..where we indirectly exert an ownership feeling over another person especially our spouse.

Dont get me wrong..I am not advocating open marriage system!LOL

What I am trying to say is as we age we should know to let go our grip over feelings that have served its purpose and let non-possessive love remain.

I think its very much possible.

What do we do with an obstinate wayward ward who is not listening to you..

Do you give up or you will try try a different technique to mend him or her...

Give up for me is a loss of face..

Give up means accepting failure..

Give up is a slap on your goal

On the other hand letting go a technique aimed at broadening our horizons..

It removes all the ego;

It sheds the bias;

It purges the jaundiced eye

It peels of the color in our mind

All the above hold us back in taking a right decision..

Let us let go of these shortcomings

And then take a balanced decision!!

Thousands of TCS middle level executives who are getting pink slips have a tough decision - let go, give up or unionize to fight!
