When you start a thread with queries about upanayanam
( reg the qualification of the vadu or the acharya /guru)
all these can be discussed in the same thread.

Kindly enlighten about who can become an Acharya for Brahmopadesam to a Vadu. Request not to put you assumptions and presumptions. Pls provide answers if any which has the support of Scriptures and Puranas (More emphasis on Scriptures/Sastras).

Shri Ravi,

If you want to know "answers if any which has the support of Scriptures and Puranas (More emphasis on Scriptures/Sastras)" and are also particular that we do not put our "assumptions and presumptions" in what we write, you should consult a vAdhyAr or purohit who has the necessary scholarship, in your opinion. An alternative will be to get the advice of the Shankaracharya of Kanchi or Sringeri, if you are confident that they will talk on the basis of "Scriptures/Sastras" only and will not put their assumptions and presumptions.

Lastly, when you have such low opinion about the members here and their posts, why approach this Forum at all, for clearing your great doubt?

Dear Sir,

Firstly I know nothing about any of these..so if someone tells me something about Brahmopadesham I would have no idea if it is his assumptions or presumptions.

To know right from wrong we need to have a certain amount of knowledge.

I will keep things simple...I know nothing about repairing an Air Conditioner...so when I call a repair man and he says all sorts of things...sometimes I will just have to believe what he says cos my knowledge on that is lacking..well he could be cheating me too.

So same way here...unless we have certain amount of knowledge only then we can actually know if someone knows his stuff or is just giving presumptions/assumptions.

So going by that I guess you must be having a certain degree of knowledge..so why are you asking members here and further more you also said "please provide answers if any"

That means you assume that there is a possibility no one might even know anything!LOL

I feel you should have worded you query like this:

Kindly enlighten about who can become an Acharya for Brahmopadesam to a Vadu. Pls provide answers
which has the support of Scriptures and Puranas

Well my dear...you have got 3 answers so far..from some members here..but not the answer you wanted to hear.

Dear Renu,
Every qustion holds in itself a doubt and
an answer for another question! :)
How I wish the question and the answer belonged to each other.
Then there will be no need to ask the question in the first place.

Father is the natural " acharya" for "brahmopadesam" to impart "Gayatri" to his son who has been consecrated "Upanayanam". He is also the Guru. Brahmanyan, Bangalore.
