British Airways asks his full name in response to his twitter regarding the loss of baggage!

Maria Sarapova recently asked who is Sachin I donot know him! when asked about him by a news reportor !

Sachins fans get upset!!!

We should not expect sports persons of different categories and countries should also be aware of Sachin.

Most people from Non cricket playing countries do not know who is Sachin Tendulkar or any other cricketer for the matter cos most of them do not read sports that does not concern them.

In fact out here cricket news is hardly in the sports section.

But I read a lot of Indian cricket scenario cos they are always linked with movie stars.

I like reading about football cos the players are handsome.

I don't like tennis..so I dont read much about it..I have heard of Maria Sharpova but not interested to read beyond that.

But if someone were to ask me about a sports person and if I do not know about him/her I would google search to look up about him/her instead of displaying my "ignorance'!LOL

A professional sportsman/woman, especially a Tennis Player, has to travel frequently. One has to appreciate Maria Sharapova for telling frankly about Sachin. We cannot expect a Tennis Player to browse Internet and give information about a sports person of other discipline.

Cricket is not a popular sport like Soccer, Tennis, Basket Ball, and is actively being played in less than a dozen countries. It is therefore quite natural to be not aware of Sachin.

Even in West Indies, once a Cricket powerhouse, the interest has come down and youngsters are switching over to Soccer, Athletics.
