We come across many spiritual people in life who complain that despite regular pooja, temple visits and other spiritual stuff, they get more trouble. Why this?
We can logically answer them
1.We can ask them to look at all the probably solutions and work on the best possible solution with the available resources.
2.We can tell that “This problem is nothing compared to others”
etc etc.,
A good question indeed? Let us approach from another angle.
In my first 3 years in spiritual journey, I used to ask the same question to myself. People who are not doing “Penance/Meditation” appear to be happy but I am “Spiritual??..(ok ok No hard feelings!)” but I get more problems. Even managing my life everyday became a difficult task.
I would like to quote Saint Thiruvalluvar here. The rough translation of Athikaram “Penance” Kural No.267 goes as
“With the fining fire, just as gold shines brighter, a person doing penance will shine brighter who have endured the burning of pain”
He means that the person doing penance will be put to test so that he shines brighter.
For me, I have broken the way I tackled it in 3 parts.
Initial Stages:
Despite the problems, I continued meditating. Meditation gave me a state of mind to accept the reality as it. See the problem with clarity. I found the solution with that clarity.
Later Stages:
I understood that all the problems are related to the mind. Every mind has a pattern and once we observe the pattern in which it works, it can be easily crossed. Once I land into a problem, I crossed the “Mind’s movement in the Problem” and moved towards the solution piece straight with absolute clarity. Once the focus shifts, the solution presents itself.
Now:
When I get a problem which I could never manage, I can see “his helping hand”. Thanks God.
“Where there is no mind there is no problem”.
I can now understand that God is both the problem creator and solver. He gives us the problems so that we can learn from the problems and move beyond the net of mind.
By his grace, all the problems fade away easily.
Suggestion:
My suggestion to all Bhaktas or Yogi’s is to keep practicing whatever religious practices you do. Never stop practicing. The solution will present itself automatically.
To me, it is not the problem which matters. It is the state of mind and clarity in which we are matters.
If the problem is too big, wait for “God’s helping hand”.
