BBC News - Why Indians want to settle on Mars

It is going to be a tough and hostile environment..How these guys are going to manage?

Incidentally there seem to be no female in this list?

Mars!LOL

Isnt that the planet with all the Manglik Dosha?

So if Indians stay there..then astrologers have to change their charts and planet Earth takes over as the Dosha planet.

So very soon..no more Manglik Dosha but Bhumi Dosha.

BTW there are no females on that list cos Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus!

Mam,

I think crossing the ocean, taking voyage by sea and going beyond India are not recommended in Dharma Sastras.

But we have already adapted to the changed world and have Prayachita poojas to retain our caste, etc

After ten years, hope, those in the list get ‘Green’ signal to land on this ‘Red' Planet:).

Dear Sir,

Frankly speaking I feel that the retaining the caste thing is just to scare everyone to adhere to their svadharma cos lets look at it logically..what actually changes when we cross the sea?

Nothing right?? It is just that certain nithyakarmas can not be done during sea travel due the lack of fresh water to bathe and do oblations etc.

In the past when any law was to be enforced it was actually not done through a logical channel but it was done by inducing fear so that everyone will adhere to their svadharma to ensure smooth sailing of society. But this method had a drawback cos people cease to think and just copy and pasted in their mind what they were told.

But when we know in our mind that the body is just a garment worn by the Atma..nothing can really affect us or change us in the technical sense ....after all Lord Krishna did say :

TEXT 23
nainam chindanti sastrani
nainam dahati pavakah
na cainam kledayanty apo
na sosayati marutah

The soul can never be cut into pieces by any weapon, nor can he be burned by fire, nor moistened by water, nor withered by the wind.

BTW Ravana too was Brahmin who used to cross the sea frequently from Lanka to Bharat but even then till his last breath he was considered a Brahmin.
