Why does magic & possession occur more on Saturday & Tuesday?

Not always.

Some societies believe magic especially black magic is more potent on a Thursday night all the better if its an Amavasya night.

Possession is not entirely related to any specific day.

May be people have a habit of thinking Saturday is a day for Shani so anything bad should happen on a Saturday.

Tuesday too is not viewed very auspiciously ..so I guess that is why "possession" is thought to be more common on Tuesday and Saturday.

I dont think evil entities have any special day to posses anyone.

Saturday night might make some sense cos its party time for humans and ghosts might want to join!LOL

Tuesday I dont know..may be stress of attending work on Monday.

As you said that Tuesday and Saturday are viewed not as auspicious days for conducting functions, halls & auditoriums are readily available even on short notice, on these days.

You go to Las Vegas in USA and you can have Magic show every day.
In my town in India we used to celebrate Ayyappa pooja. At the end of pooja some one will get "possed" and will come out of it and then that person will hand out the Bana leafs which will be symbolic for serving the Feast.
The organizers will have a designated person ready if no one else really gets "possessed", this designated person will ACt as possessed and then come out of it to hand the banana leaf, so we could proceed with the feast.
So it worked and it will be a Sunday Noon.

The person is a victim instead of some upon whom a Dev/Devi comes.
Victims are usually young, virgin girls.
Countries include: India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc

Signs of a person being possessed shows more on:
Saturday (starting from the night b4 Saturday)
Tuesday (starting from the night b4 Tuesday)
everyday between sunset and end of twilight ( the ending time coincides with the night's Islamic call to prayer, i.e Azaan )
Days of Kaali Pooja / Kaali worship

I have noted that many people claim to be able to get into a state of trance and then say some Devi/Devata comes on them.

At times it just could be Dissociative Identity Disorder where person gets another personality to exert him/herself.

Mostly we see all those with these abilities are females from troubled homes/lower socio-economic status and lower education background.

You would almost never find a highly educated person or person from an educated family saying that a Devi or Devata comes on them.

Also those from a lower economic/education background tend to view all these trance as a display of Bhakti and spiritual status..so girls from these home somehow grow up to believe that a person can be in "power/spiritual status' if they are able to come in trance and develop a new facet in the personality which takes over their mind from time to time.

Many lower economic home girls in real life do not get enough attention or are given any proper treatment at home..but if she is capable of coming in trance she is viewed differently and treated better.

I don't think the specific days have anything to do with these trance phenomenon.

Some are known to come on trance mainly on Fridays and some can induce it almost anytime.
