Why we close our eyes while Crying , Kissing?


I suppose it is difficult to keep the eyes open when crying because the Crying sensation is lost , same is the case with Kissing !

while crying vision blocked by the tears falling from the eyes; this might be another reason.

While Kissing we may be focusing on the act of Kissing,and do not want to focus our eyes on the face of the person we Kiss!!

I have the habit of closing my eyes while talking over phone ( if the talk is more than a 2-3 minutes and if i am answering some questions)

Some people used to close their eyes while listening to music, or while dancing with their GF/ or spouse..

Day Dreaming is possible without closing the eyes, and i do it a lot !!

It gives some satisfaction for the time being, and without dreaming inventions would not have been possible.

Hello PJ sir,

It depends where and who we are kissing.

If it is a person were are truly in love with..eyes will be closed cos we are enjoying the feeling of being close.

If it is a person whom we really cant decide if we are in love or not..we can still keep eyes open once in a while.

Now coming to place..if a person is kissing in a place where there is very little privacy..he/she might keep eyes open from time to time to make sure no one sees them.

If there is full privacy then eyes are shut!

Ok now one more reason why eyes are closed..sometimes we can be kissing someone but be fantasizing about someone else..so for that the eyes have to be WIDE SHUT!LOL

PJ sir,

I never close eyes while talking over the phone cos while I am talking to someone over the phone I might be actually doing something else..like reading a book or seeing TV or seeing the internet or folding clothes etc.


I am always multitasking..so my eyes are only closed when I am sleeping.

BTW PJ sir..who is it you are talking with that you are so relaxed as to close your eyes?

As far as I know some men close their eyes while talking on phone with a person they are in love with!

Yes Sir!

That was what I studied in Medical School but there is also another school of thought that the fetus is actually neither male nor female and later on coding for sex starts after the 8th week.

From my limited medical knowledge, I agree with the last post that the fetus has no gender until the sex chromosomes start to be transcribed. AFAIK a 6 cell embryo or a blastocyst has no gender.

I have seen people closing their eyes during karpoora hArathi in temples when we get a clear view

of the God / Goddess!! ray2: I always keep my eyes wide open during karpoora hArathi! :thumb:

BTW, it is impossible to find any one sneeze with eyes open!!
