If anybody salivating with this news, it is not in India but in China...Will this stop with cheering the team??
Is it not pandering to baser instincts? Where do we draw the limit for motivating staff
IT companies in China reportedly hiring female cheerleaders to motivate male programmers

Chinese IT companies are known for being efficient, with programmers, developers and tech personnels being the backbone of many such companies. While long working hours and monotonous job routine is tiring, IT companies in China are reportedly hiring female cheerleaders to motivate male employees and boost productivity.
State-run Trending in China posted on its Facebook page, “Internet companies across China are embracing programming cheerleaders, pretty, talented girls that help create a fun work environment.” ”According to the HR manager of an Internet company that hired three such cheerleaders, programmers are mostly male and terrible at socializing, and the presence of these girls have greatly improved their job efficiency and motivation,” the Facebook page description says.
The scheme has received some criticism for being sexist towards women and stereotypic male programmers, but some tech firms think motivating programmers who are terrible at socializing could be helpful in getting the most out of them.
They say, laughter is the best medicine and these pretty, young cheerleaders are hired exactly for that. They spend most of their time in IT offices and are tasked to keep high morale while creating a fun working environment. The role of these female cheerleaders is simple, buying breakfast for the programmers, playing ping-pong, casual chitchatting and singing songs.
At this point of time, it’s not pretty clear if this trend will see any widespread acceptance, but engineers from across the globe might be keeping a close tab on future developments as things unfold.
