Xiaomi is a company that rose up the ranks by making high-quality devices at cheap Prices, and granted that it didn’t have much in the way of R&D, and some of its designs were blatant ripoffs of other Products.
Xiaomi produced stuff that was cheap, and people wanted cheap devices, which is why Xiaomi is now among the top 5 Smartphone Manufacturers in the world, and it is just getting started.
Now, it has announced the Mi 2, which is a really cheap Smart TV with great hardware packed in.
Firstly, it has a 40 Inch 1080p Display, with a great 5000:1 contrast Ratio.
Underneath is a four Cortex-A9 Core setup, running at 1.4 Ghz, along with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of Internal Storage. It has a Mali MP4 GPU, which is decent but not very powerful. It runs Android overlayed with an MIUI Skin.
Its OS is based on Android Kitkat, and soon it will receive an update bringing the base OS to Lollipop.
It will cost only $320, which is mindbogglingly low for such a feature-packed TV, and it will only release in China, for now. Rumor has it that these TVs are heading to India soon.
What do you think? Is it time to grab one of these?
