Yes my dear. There are more than 10 relatives emplyed and living in USA,UK,Australia etc.,.Thw parents of the A boy after qualifing to MCA got a job in UK and approached to get him married and I wa instrumental to get him married to a EEE girl from our distant relatives. After mariage he left to UK with his wife not to turn back to India. When his father expired he only suggested to get things done by anything they require and cabled back that hw would come to madras after two months when he would complete all other last rites.A second fellow done all the rites of his dead father in USA itself. Leaving all our own personnal works do you want us to to look after his parents though they are relatives to us. Dont we have our own responsibilitie to our children.? This made me very sick and I never met these fellows when they came to Chennai. I can tell you about other fellows also.and they are fellows not to be talked about.Shits. I dont want to talk about these fellows anymore.

Dear Mr. Yesmohan, It is a good thing you have brought out the illogical behaviour of Mr Narasimhan Of course he has valid reason & Packed anger , which he has wonderfully expressed .However this could be a typical case & should not be generalized, because things are not bad in the last 20 years. What is narrated by Mr narsimhan could have been experienced just in an earlier period when not hundreds would have gone for M.S studies , let alone lucrative Jobs &earning quite handsomely , meeting all the needs of themselves/ the parents of Boys & Girls Almost all visiting U.S & Money buys everything one needs.
Comparison of living in India & U.S is no more valid, because in both the countries our families visit for specific purposes 7 talk high about many good things Is it not TRUE ?

Ji,
I understand and share your feelings and concern.

You are a relative and helping the parents of the boys. If your distress of mind is this much, I imagine about the untold miseries of the parents and what it would have been to them in their last stage.

Dear Mr. Srinivasan,

I beg to differ a little bit.

What Mr. Nrasimhan refers to is not about the position & Status the boys are holding in US, the handsome money they earn and the material pleasure they and their kith & kin enjoy; but about the complete “U” turn in their mind set and the concern / worry / unease ……they display and put on view for their parents.

Of course, money could buy anything in this world including one another spouse but not the persons who introduced the boys to this world………….the real parents.

PS: Sorry; due to some preoccupation, I could not call on you.. before you leave India.

hi sir,

i like to say in differently....when our parents left agraharam for the sake of prosperity....many left grandparents unattended

and went to bombay/delhi/madras....just for money....many never went back to agraharam again....kids are born and brought

up in cities.....so they left their old parents in a remote village....now a kids are having SKYPE and other

communications available for abroad kids.....many left for delhi in 50s and 60s and never visited tamil nadu again...

Dear Mr.Rishi, I must thank you for your nice comments about my illogical behaviour that was brought out to the fore by Mr.Yesmohan. Unfortunately most of you very conveneiently did not touch the main points I raised, the reasons being best known to you. I never pointed out any of my comments about any of you as I am fully aware that most of you are NRI கைபுண்ணுக்கு கண்ணாடி தேவை இல்லை அது உங்களுக்கு நன்றாக தெறிந்து இருக்கிறது..அப்புறம் என்ன வெங்காயம்..

Apart from the personal reasons which Shri Narasimhan may have, the points listed in the OP are correct and relevant, I will say; and it is a fact that America is a country from which one (including single girls in their early twenties) who all left with solemn promises of coming back, never returned. America cast its magical spell over tham and now they are happy grandparents there!

Dear Yesmohan. I am in Cape canaveral/ Florida. for last 3 weeks. I read about the current trend on Preliminaries Esp that of presidential contestants Hillary & Trump.I was in U.S in the year 2000/ 2001 when in the closing of Counting of Votes mere 450 held up declaration of final announce ment.

Dear Sangom Sir,

You are correct. Most of the girls and boys who study and work abroad, don't return unless they are given a pink slip

by their companies when they are still young!! Also, as TBS has pointed out, those who settle down in metros mostly

hate the agrahAram life and if the parents are living in agrahAram, they are left to take care of themselves!

Recently a mAmA very close to us, left this world and his elder son who was on a tour to Europe refused to come back to

perform the last rites. By God's grace, the younger son had a better thinking and rushed back from Russia, where he

had gone to attend his company meeting. So, all those who live in India are NOT great souls!

Dear Mr. narasimhan, /Mr. S.Mohan/ Mr, Tbs , I am in unison with the thoughts as elaborated by you all.,esp. that of Mr. Narasimhan ? you may wonder my right- about -turn ? It is my nature , in that I pose/ post literally Opposite views , which would irritate you all ? Then only I am able to get the real Mind of you all. I don;t feel shy , rather pleasure
to seek Apology for what I have commented ? I mentally planned this, the moment I read the write-up of Mr. Narasimhan? We are in unison & it would be easy to exchange views of all of us, keeping the unity of Tamil Brahmins as paramount.
My purpose of joining in this Forum is this :-
1) all brahmins should try to formulate practical schemes to bring the less privileged youths & beseech you all to float workable schemes.

Dear Rishikesh, You are just 2 years younger to me. May God bless you with a long healthty life to serve our community. I am not keeping well for the last 10 days and hence not able to concentate more for this forum. You know ,I have seen all sides of ones life career and I dont require anything more than a peaceful end. Dont be afraid of this society but be bold to say what you want to say to our community..

I agree with Sri Narasimhan to a large extent.....But there is a generation change in attitude....In the 60's & 70's whoever left the country never returned..They did not take care of their parents to a large extent..Since the families used to be large they assumed that their brothers in India will take care of their parents..But those who left in the 90's & 2000's are mostly those who just have 1 or no siblings...They have a greater attachment to their parents and take care of them...A known acquaintance who was suffering from terminal stage Cancer was taken care by the daughter who lives in USA to make several visits to tend her ailing mother! Parents are also invited to their children's place in USA...But here too daughters are more affectionate than sons...There is a limit to getting the son's affection! Son's are also attached more to mother than father! But more devoted to wife than mother!

Sri Narasimhan Ji,

I hope that God would bless you with many more years of healthy life to serve our community.

With all your experience, wisdom and straight forward opinions, share your thoughts to “Lead kindly light”.

I know a few Indians who have come back and would not want to go for all the money. I doubt they are mad. Maybe they have a mind of their own. Those who have fire (for money) in their belly succeed to go there. What class of Indians go there? More TBs are there. Why did they go there? Parents pestering? Particularly Maamis to spite their neighbour? Many parents failed to give or tell values to their kids in the beginning. Padma Lakshmis kins had disowned her. She is somebody in the world. But so what? It is an attitude. There are millions who would not leave the shore for earning today. But as tourists, yes, they will. Thirai kadal odium thiraviyam thedu is a old (1000 yrs)Tamil saying. But some were expatriated from their villages/towns/country. It is one's choice to live like a citizen or a vagabond.

Dear Iyya Sir,

There are a few reasons for some of the NRIs to come back to India.

1. The company which has employed him gives a 'pink slip' and he can't find another job.

I know some guys who were hunting jobs in India, when they were sent away from the U S of A!

2. Girl children enter double digit age and the parents are afraid of their safety.

Two families I know (Two girl children in each) settled in India, when the girls were still kids.

3. One spouse gets some health problem and the support from parents is needed.

One lady with two girl children developed cancer and needed the support from her family to take care of the kids

and so her family shifted to India.

4. After retirement some opt to return to India because with the pension they get in $, they can lead a very a comfortable

life in India.

I know one mAmA who gets his pension in $ and lives happily in Coimbatore.

BTW, why do many tambrahms refuse to come back to India? This is my observation after seeing my son and a few of his

friends. Those in IT field wish to achieve something new in the field and need VC - Venture Capital, which is easily available

in the U S of A. To get that amount of money in India can happen only in their dreams! So, they wish to stay back and make
good money.

After so many years the men & women lived in U.s for 25 years & more can take a review duly analizing pros & cons as to whether they can move to India now or after a few years, but definitely before they reach 60, or 65 max
.
If they have enough $ & also have real , helpful relatives may decide positively & freely make the required arrangements & really shift to a place of choice preferably with the acceptance of wife/ Son/ daughter.
According to me positive things are more & do not hesitate to spend liberally , & only then you will have peace, never grudge or compare anything distasteful ( all of us know everything & move on happily. If you extend moral help to any one you come across, they would be happy to talk & become a real friend.
Anyone thinking about shifting to India is welcome to reply, since i am on 6 months sojourn in Florida .

hi

one more reason....till somebody can DRIVE CAR independently...they can stay in USA....otherwise return to india is best.....

some mamas cant bear cold in winter...so they stay during winter in india with december KUTCHERY IN CHENNAI....then

in summer ....they return to USA...i agreed the pension in $ is more comfortable life in india than USA...
