This series of posts are meant for those who are interested in such matters. If you have no implicit faith in shastras these are not for you. Please skip. Do not waste time.

Dear Vaagmi ji,

How do we really know the faith of another when we have no idea even of the next second in our own lives?

The cook serves the dish but he can't control the taste bud of others.

Anything posted in good faith will have an effect..seen or unseen even on a rank atheist.

The sun rays falls alike on all.

Why should we deprive anyone of any opportunity?

O' Vaagmi ji...you have done your duty by posting here...lets others reap the fruit and taste it..sweet for some..bitter for some..tasteless or none.

This is what a wise birdie outside my window once told me!LOL

(Just kidding...felt a bit "Mataji"ish today..so I thought I would preach!LOL)

Oh Mataji, pranaams. LOL.

I thought about it. But decided to add these lines as introduction to avoid people trivialising the subject. We have enough judges around here who will immediately imagine me to be a typical Tamil Movie pundit with a paunch, pundrams all over my body, dhoti tucked behind and with a tuft and pass a judgment to hang me. The first two lines in my post are to keep away such self appointed 'empty vessel' judges. I intend to write a few more posts in this as a series about the sandhya practices of brahmins.

Hope you understand, mataji!!!

And send that birdie quickly back. I sent him there to wake you up because I got an impression that you have been sleeping for long. LOL.

Yes...They have totally got you all wrong!

You are indeed a pandit but a 6 pack Nyle Di Marco clone!LOL

A wise person is one who is asleep to the principle of the world and is who fully awake to the principle of the Atma.

I am therefore both asleep and awake!LOL

One small doubt on the snanams. Taking hot water bath considered as bath or only cold water bath is permitted ?

renukaji
If vaagmji posts in good faith, I have no choice but to read the same though I am not much of a believer

For delhi winter panjanga snanam and kaapila snanam will suit.

for goa beaches, vaaruna snanam in sea and paarthiv snanam with sand over the body instead of mud with no mantras is

implementable.

ஸ்நானம் should be beautifiying rather than purifying mind and body For that try Cleopatras "Ksheera Sagara" Bath!

What kind of milk did Cleopatra bathe in?

  1. It is said that Cleopatra, Queen of Ancient Egypt, took baths in donkey milk to preserve the beauty and youth of her skin. Legend has it that no less than 700 donkeys were needed to provide the quantity of milk necessary for her daily bath.

My post was really in good faith with genuine doubt. It got carried away to different directions as apprehended by OP. Sorry to be mundrikottai in asking such silly questions.

Yes! I understand. :)

Hence deleted my posts which are not needed in this thread! :nono:

P.S: Threads in GD get carried away tangentially, often! So, better to shift this to 'Traditions' forum! :typing:

I think all these snanams may well be primitive methods of tribals keeping their body clean - just like elephant throws mud on itself - there may be different tribes who could have practised one or more of the above... and sometime along the way, they got pulled into a basket.

Since this is in GD, I posted my views. :)

That is very heavy stuff. I am an ordinary soul capsuled in an ordinary body.
Such heavy stuff is undigestible for me.

Oh Mataji!! please give me the capacity to understand such stuff or the strength to withstand them.

Is there any dresss code for these 7 ways of bathing? Instead of ஆபோஹிஷ்டா mantras try ஆபோஹி ragas standing in kneee deep waters to get it perfect!

Tips on Voice culture!

  • Never steam or inhale for improving vocal cords.
  • Bathroom singing is very good as the air in the bathroom contains lot of humidity.
  • If possible stand in neck deep water adn do the Saadhakam.
