Yes, you are right.. it is boring to wait for some appointment without knowing the time; in India, doctors never keep up their appointment time to patients; if they give appointment at 2 pm invariably they will call you around 3.30 pm..

In US it is different, if the appointment is given at 2 pm, most likely you will be called before 2.15 pm.

Dear PJ sir,

I also like to talk straight to the point and cant stand those who are long winded and never get to the point.

Those who know me well know that they have to summarize what they have in mind before they talk to me.

I will give you an example how I talk to my mum...sometimes she calls me to ask about some friend of hers health..she will always start off in a semi panic tone..ok here goes:

Mum :Renu...you know Aunty so and so? You know what happened?

Renu: Did she die?

Mum: No

Renu:Ok..is she sick?

Mum: Yes..

Renu: Is she terminally ill or its just some old age related symptom?

Mum :She was admitted becos of some fever and some bodypain etc

Renu: Ok make sure is not dengue..

Mum: Its not..doctors said its some simple viral fever

Renu:Bye bye..dont get so worked up for small illness in life.

Mum: why did I ever call you! (she slams the phone down)

Ok PJ sir you know why I spoke like that? Cos if given a chance this will be the conversation.

Mum :do you know Aunt so and so the one who came for your wedding..whose son if working in this company and he has 2 cute kids and the last time I saw those kids..blah blah blah..it will go on and on a never ending story!LOL

But anyway she will still call me when she wants to know something cos she knows even though I am direct to the point...I will always help when she needs help.
My doctor is a multi tasker . you can tell your ailments . He would be scribbling your symptoms and prescription at same time . sometimes ask a question . then quickly hold your wrist , check with stethescope , feel your throat or any other ailing part and within a minute of that hand in the prescription and end of consultation . He sees about 30-40 patients per hour .
when I ask about thermometer and temp . he would say he does not need it .also say the nurse outside will take it and give me in case I desire
great . I like him .I also like this business like consultation for ordinary ailments . of course , I hardly go for consultation for normal headaches, bad throat or mild temp. my chemist is good enough . He will have a goli for that. This is how anyway poor operate in india . Only seriously ill poor go to doctors due to high expense.

Dear PJ sir,

I totally dislike to see a row of patients waiting to see a doctor..I start work at 9 am but I am here at 8.30am so that no one is waiting for me.

I like the flow to be good so that no one is waiting too long.

But some of my doctor friends dont do that...they come to work at 9.30 - 10.00 am when their appointment starts at 9 am..they want the patient load to build up and have many patients waiting for them so that people will get the impression that this doctor must be good that some many people are waiting...hence they come late just to create that impression.

They tell me when you come earlier than the patient..you see patient right away and the crowd flow is good and you finish patients faster but it looks as if there is no crowd waiting for you and people might think no patient is here to see you and you are not a most sought doctor.

I cant be bothered for all those tactics..I hate to keep anyone waiting so I come early to work.

In india unless it is a specialist , no one takes an appointment for doctors . One collects a chit with a number and waits for the number to be called . Wise having no time take the chit and go away and return when the number is likely to be called . Most of shopping is done instead of waiting .

What you say is true with some local doctors, but in Big Hospitals like Apollo Hospital, one has to call the secretary , give the registration number, ( so that the files can be moved ) and gets appointment time.

Talking for a long time because daughters are associated with Mum more..There is more bonding..So they would like to share all stuff with Mum...Even small office gossip of hubby are not missed

Have you seen ladies being alone for a walk...No, never..There is some accompaniment..With gossip the walk with partner(s) becomes an exercise of both the body and mind..The appendage could be a friend, mother, husband , daughter etc..I have observed this during my walk in the Garden..

This happens only when they are having a lot of time to spare as for a stroll

Now try to poke the lady when she is busy in something..You cannot disturb her..She will hardly have a glance at you..They will either not speak or give you a stern look or yell at you!

vganeji
quite true

man walk alone . only they talk to themselves . mostly senior citizens
.
most young men do not walk . many jog though . they prefer the gym for a work out I suppose .

men walking with ladies . interesting sight . not always matching step for step . men long steps , ladies multiple steps to match or walking behind

only very few are romantic oldies holding spouses hands .

some oldies men hold milk and veg. bags . ladies march triumphantly along . ultimate victory of womankind.lol

Krish Sir

Whenever i go for walking alone, i used to recite some slokams; that keeps my mind from wandering somewhere!!

my father in law also used to recite slokas while walking alone . he used to wear dhoties with handloom yellow/saffron shawls with ram written on it in tamil and also sport a namam. . some north people used to think he was a holy man and fall at his feet for blessings . lol

When mind is active while walking, you tend to walk more as you tend to forget how much you walked...Instead of walking on a road I prefer a park as there is lot of greenery (more oxygen) less noise from vehicles and less distractions

our parks have many monkeys . most carry sticks to protect themselves .

even parks have not been left out by those selling good health schemes . they sit there with

weighing machines and some gadgets . also take your details to sell something or other.

some senior citizen assemble regularly for joint exercises and yoga . they also participate in laugh sessions . it is like a war cry .

I had strangers accosting me and calling me for meditation session.

he believes in buddhism , I believe .

There are a lot of strange people in this world . a morning walk will convince you of it
