Seven girls from Kerala Muslim orphanage allege

KALPETTA: MP P K Sreemathi on Tuesday said seven inmates of a Muslim orphanage at Muttil in Wayanad were undergoing sexual exploitation at the hands of the accused for the last two months.
"The girls were lured first after being offered sweets. The accused started sexually abusing them after taking their nude pictures. They were threatened with dire consequences if they disclosed it to any one," she said after meeting the victims.
Sreemathi demanded all the inmates of the orphanage be given counselling to know whether they faced a similar situation. "The accused even threatened the girls when an identification parade was organised by the police," she added.

The sexual abuse case of the seven girl inmates of a Muslim orphanage at Muttil in Wayanad district came to light when the orphanage administrator lodged a complaint with the police. Police registered a case against six local persons, based on the complaint, which submitted that the girls were sexually abused by the gang at the shop situated near the orphanage for over two months.

Sexual abuse of women is a crime and all of us should try oppose and prevent its occurring to the extent possible. The persons who commit or promote this crime don't belong to any cast, creed or society but he is only a criminal. Let us all raise our voice against it.

By the postings pasted by Ganesh Ji..its clear that the media reports incidences of sexual abuse..sexual assaults that happens in the country.

The articles above mentioned nuns..even named the Christian priest and also mentioned Muslim orphanage.

Does this leave a bitter after taste that Christians and Muslims are being potrayed negatively?

Nope..not at all..its just crimes being reported and no generalization can be made.

So likewise ..same goes with the post "sleeping with a Brahmin to get rid of Doshas" should be read with focus on the crime only and nothing more.

Well guys..out here where I live the media reported a 21 yr old man raped his 48 yr old widow mother.

Are they really doing anything seriously with regard to prevention of crime against women by enforcing stringent punishment.....??

JJ and Sasikala (both women) dragged the Disproportionate Asset case for nearly twenty years.......

It is reciprocatory... both the Court as well as the parties involved should co-operate...

There was an analysis I read (whatsapp message) that most media outlets in India (like in many countries) are owned by powerful interests.

These interests include large religious organizations of Christianity outside India. They have an agenda to selectively publish sensational stories, fudge facts and make Hindus look bad. This story helps to make the 'holy brahmins' as bad people and play into the stereotype that women are vulnerable to such people.
