Dear Mrs, RR,

As you are in music profession, I would like to have your inputs on:

a) Did the husband or his family members, ask your students to sing, at least occasionally, after marriage, after having asked
that question before marriage?

b) Did the husband or his family members, do any thing to further the prospects of the talented students of yours?

c) Did the in-laws facilitate attendance of kutcheri, musical programmes etc. of your students after marriage to sustain
her interests in music?

Thanks in advance.

Two personal anecdotes

Prospective groom before marriage: **Onakku, pAda theriyumA?**

Same guy after marriage on a Sunday evening: **Tansen, Thampura-vai

Prospective father-in-law before marriage: **piLLai-kku ezhu vayasuleya pooNal pOttachhAa!!
Besh! Besh!! Sandhiyavandanam paNRAnA? Vedam ellAm theriyumA?**

Same F-I-L after marriage of his daughter on a brief visit to his daughter and son-in-law’s house
which happened to be ekAdashi-dwAdashi days recommended for veda pArAyaNam:

**Ivan enna kada-kada-gudu-gudu-innu express rayil OttindurukkAn? Veda-ttai thavira

Dear Narayan Sir,

Here are my answers:

a) Some of them are lucky to enter the family which appreciates music and they are requested to sing often. :)

b) One of my students is teaching music in Singapore. Another student who got married recently, has taken her

Veena along with her to the U S of A, to continue her learning. Her husband is supportive. :thumb:

c) Some are lucky in that way but some others take up full time jobs and forget music! :(
